Revolution! Embargo! Smuggling! The trafficking of slaves! Dangerous crossings of the Atlantic and double crossings of intentions. Spies, flies and Redcoats in the streets! It was a time when a completely new form of government was trying to invent itself, as well as a new national character in the process. -- Such times, such men & women, such opportunities and coincidence of characters and events all coming together at the right moment in history -- It amazed those living in such times and should put us to shudder at how it all could have come out so differently.
The Interactive History Co. invites you to experience the work that every household had to do to survive, prosper and establish the American state of mind. There were skills to master -- from how to make quilts, candles, books and paper, to how to pass the time and entertain oneself -- and above all, to act like good, civilized, second-class English citizens. And if that rankled, then there was no shortage of radical politics aimed at turning the world upside-down. Be prepared to be amused, amazed and... electrified.
Please explore below our American Colonial era programs designed for schools, libraries, museums and other community organizations.
In addition, we invite you to consider arranging for a very special evening presentation that will bring you and your organization face to face with one of the most memorable of the Founding Fathers: Benjamin Franklin. -- You will be invited to ask questions of America's premier 'rascal'; to enjoy first-hand the wit and wisdom of this amazing & engaging individual in an interactive, Chautauqua style presentation that will captivate and delight all in attendance.
